Location Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Year 2019 Client Riyadh Municipality — via Al Muhaid Consulting Type Neighborhood public park My role Concept design · Planting design · Hardscape detailing · Technical specification · BOQ Software AutoCAD · SketchUp · Lumion Brief — Convert an underused neighborhood plot into a public park serving families across morning and evening use. Challenge — Riyadh's climate makes the space unusable through the middle of the day for much of the year, and the municipal maintenance budget capped how much irrigated softscape the design could carry. Response — I organized the park around [shaded walking loop / seating clusters / children's zone], concentrating shade where dwell time is longest and keeping irrigated lawn to the areas people actually occupy. The remaining ground plane uses drought-tolerant native planting and permeable hardscape, holding the park's green character while reducing water demand and maintenance load.
